“A fresh start is a journey – a journey that requires a plan.” – Jokotade
As I reflect back on 2017, I think of all of my blessings, trials, and tribulations. Last year was a huge year for me. I purchased my first car (I named her Stella), landed my dream job, moved to a different city, moved into my first apartment, Maid of Honor in two weddings, mastered budgeting, and fell in love. I moved from a “transitional” period of my life into experiencing “adulting” at its finest. 2017 taught me that hard work and prayer go hand-in-hand. It taught me that certain people have been placed in my life for special reasons. It taught me that on the days I felt tired and weak, I had to maintain strong.
2017 truly taught me how to balance my life.
I want you to take a moment and think on the things that didn’t go as planned or came unexpected in 2017 and release. Negative thoughts, fears, and excuses don’t have room for where you are headed. I believe that in order to start fresh you have to let go of all of the things from your past that are weighing you down. This will help you think clearly with a lightweight heart. You now have new goals and different mind-set going into 2018. Be encouraged that this year will be a year full of blessings, promotion, health, success, and peace.
What are your goals for 2018? Setting goals helps keep you organized and on track to meeting them. As you make a list of your goals make sure they are attainable, realistic, and fulfilling. In my eyes, the ultimate goal is to be happy. I want to stay passionate in my career and content in my personal life. Having that balance is a true treasure. If you haven’t already, take some time today and think about the things that you want to see come to pass this year. Write them down and pray about it. Pray about it every single day. Things are always working in our favor.
Here are my 2018 goals:
- Stay committed to my blog
- Travel outside of the country
- Volunteer and grow with an organization with a cause that matters to me
- Make another big girl purchase, investment
- Love wholeheartedly
- Give more to Jesus
Now it’s time to make moves. After you’ve let go of the mere things holding you back and set an action plan on how to accomplish goals, it’s time to move forward. This year, I challenge you to not question the bad things. Understand that He is in control and is looking for a response from you. How will you handle it? It is a test of character, it is a test to see how bad you want it, it is a test of your trust in Him. There is no better feeling than having complete faith that God will provide as he knows the desires of our hearts. Make your heart receptive to Him so that he can align you with His plans. Once you are open to receiving it, you will be lead to new heights.
Get ready to soar ♥
